The mathematics course at Crowley's Ridge Technical Institute provides the basics of math to many of the full-time programs. The Math I course is designed to enable students to competently perform in fractions, decimals, percentages, measures, tables, graphs, and calculations. Math II reinforces those skills learned in math I and provides specific math skills needed for each individual technical program.
An extended day class is provided to enable those seeking to enter the nursing program to increase their math knowledge and in turn their math scores on the assessment test.
My career in education started in Chicago, Illinois as a high school mathematics instructor. Two years later I became an acting assistant principal and continued in that position for the next nine years.
In mid-1979, I moved to Little Rock and took a position as a Network Administration Manager. In late 1983, I became a design engineer for the same company and continued in that position until the late 1985.
Since 1986, I've continued to work as a math instructor in Chicago, Little Rock, Memphis, and finally Forrest City. I have a B.S. in Mathematics, a M.A. in Education Administration & Supervision, and a certificate for computer programming in Basics and Cobol.
